Eleven Garlic Scapes was inspired by a trip to an organic farm near my studio. I loved the shapes and threw them down on a piece of black board I keep for backing still lifes. I didn't have to do much rearranging to come up with a composition I liked. But even though I loved the photo, I wasn't sure it would translate into a good painting. I changed my mind while painting it, and it has become one of my favorites.
Eleven Garlic Scapes has been accepted into the first International Guild of Realism's Salon which will be held at Marshall Gallery of Fine Art in Scottsdale January 26 to February 13th and will be for sale at that exhibit. The reception will be Jan 26 most likely 6-8pm.
